Marie's Music

About Me

I was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho. My mother taught me to play piano and accordion before I entered kindergarten. At seven I began learning the guitar. I learned several band instruments, accompanied choirs and played piano and guitar in jazz ensembles from Junior High on. I began composing in my teens, when I was asked to write a song for the Stake Music Production, The Sounds of Spring.

I received an Associate Degree from Ricks College with a minor in music. I married my sweetheart, Brian, and together we raised seven children. We now have several grandchildren. Through the years, I have taught private lessons, composed, performed, served in many music callings in church, accompanied several musicals, and taught General Music for three years at Heyburn Elementary. We have moved twenty-five times, even spending a year in Darwin, Australia, and we have met wonderful people everywhere we go. We now reside in Kimberly, Idaho.

I’m grateful for the musical gifts I’ve been given and I hope to bring the joy into the lives of others that music has brought into mine.
